January 18 - SPINNING TOP
Challenge involved designing a spinning top using random materials provided to the teams. Materials were common items such as pencils, erasers, plates, fasteners, pennies, plates, glue and tape. After the tops were built, then each team had 3 turns to spin their top on scoring field. The length of time and how well the top stayed on the field was noted.
WINNERS: Team #1, with students Michael Fuad, John Lloyd and Andrew Stout, won the $300 prize, with their spinning top design that spun for over 30 seconds and staying very close to the center on the scoring field.
