Los Alas Water Project
Design Challenge
We will be building a water distribution and purification system for a community of 115 people, with plans to expand it to the neighboring area of 600-800 people.
Design Summary
While we have yet to do our Assessment Trip and thus do not know design specifications, we will most likely purify water from a river using bio-sand filters and then pump the clean water to a tank above the community. A gravity distribution systems could then stem from the upper tank, which a distribution header ratio of 1 per 12 people.
