CAD Workshop Spring 2022

Registration

  • Students will attend the workshop in the OEDK Downstairs computer area
  • Students will attend the workshop in the COMPUTER LAB
  • Students may attend remotely only if they are unable to attend face-to-face session. A PC laptop is required--Instructors will send Zoom info and free software to install.

FRESHMAN DESIGN (ENGI 120/220 and FWIS 188) Students will come away from this workshop being able to design three-dimensional objects using a free, web-based Computer Aided Design program called SolidWorks. SolidWorks can help you share visual ideas quickly and simply. Attendance options: Face-to-Face (preferred) and Zoom for students who absolutley cannot attend the in-person session.

This workshop instructors are Eduardo Landin (eal9@rice.edu) and Charlie Gorton (ctg4@rice.edu) who will send details on the Zoom meeting and any required applications for the class. Please send an email to Eduardo or Charlie if you have any questions.

Participation: 

  • JUST ADDED! 8 Face-to-Face in OEDK Downstairs Computer area - using OEDK computers
  • 28 Face-to-Face in OEDK Computer Lab - using classroom computers
  • Remote on Zoom - in-person participation is preferred due to better outcomes of face-to-face instruction on this topic, but this option is available (students must have a PC laptop and install free SolidWorks software provided by the instructors).
