FabShops - Intro to Woodworking and Finishing Techniques
Description:
You may know how to build a functional piece, but a project isn’t ready for show until it’s been stained and polished! Join us to learn the basic woodworking and finishing techniques that can turn your functional wooden design into a beautiful one. Through a hands on project, students will learn wood assembly and finishing techniques such as sanding, staining, and sealing wood pieces and you’ll also learn how to use our brand new routers. Rough wood parts will be provided to practice on, but students are welcome to bring their own designs as well. At the end of the workshop, you can take your masterpiece home with you!
Preparation and Resources:
Please come wearing closed toe shoes and clothes that stand up to ”elbow grease” (or actual grease). Students should also bring their own laptop.
