FabShops - Intro to Mold Making & Molding Techniques
Description:
Learn basic molding making and techniques through a hands-on project experience. This introductory level workshop will cover the basics of 1 part mold making. Students will have the opportunity to make their own designs using a variety of materials including: cardboard, alginate, silicone, plaster, and cement to create molds and casts of small objects.
Preparation and Resources:
As this workshop can get messy - please bring clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Gloves, safety glasses and masks will be provided.
Students may bring a small item they wish to replicate that is no more than 3x3x3 inches. Please note that if the object is too complicated to cast, the student may have to choose an alternate object during the workshop portion.
