Description
Extruded Acrylic
Description: Extruded Acrylic is less expensive, but it softer than Cast Acrylic, can scratch easier and may contain impurities. Still a good quality material and the more commonly available material on the market. Engraves matte grey and leaves a clean cut; flame polished, glass-like edge quality.
Uses: Vector cuts & engravings, but not recommended for raster engraving. Can be tapped and threaded, but shouldn’t be torqued too much or fracturing will occur.
Examples: low-pressure water-tight enclosures, windows, light diffusion
Recommended Adhesive: Weld-on 4 Acrylic Solvent in a needle applicator bottle (located in machine shop), follow up with silicone caulk for water-tight applications; gel-based adhesives
