Project Title
Pediatric Endotracheal Tube (ETT) with Camera and Anchoring
Design Challenge
Intubation is important in pediatric populations because it helps children breathe while sedated during surgery. Current solutions of video assisted imaging are not available for pediatric sized Endotracheal Tubes (ETT). The goal was to create a novel ETT that both allows for continuous visualization and ensures stable anchoring to minimize malposition of the tube's tip, all without occluding the central lumen. TinyTrach provides this, enabling clinicians to reassess the position of the tube on an as-needed basis without exposing patients to X-rays.
