Design Challenge
E-van is a project that converted a 1997 Chevy P30 delivery van into a fully electric vehicle in less than a year. Our client is Rice’s Housing and Dining department, who were interested in a unique, fully electric vehicle that can comfortably make trips around campus. Team Thermobile works specifically on the thermal management of the system. This includes HVAC for the cabin/driver, electric motor and inverter cooling, and finally electrical vehicle battery cooling all combined into one unique system.
