Pipebot: The Intelligent In-Pipe Robot Navigator
Design Challenge
Design and develop a robot for mapping and maintaining oil well boreholes. The robot must be able to navigate and categorize different topologies such as U, T and Y joints. It will sense the joints and then articulate to enter them in the three dimensional work space. The Pipebot is designed to use off-the-shelf components and work in 5 to 7" diameter piping.
